So Isaac settled in Gerar. (Gén 26:7)  -  32 / 80.

When the men of the place asked him about his wife, he said, She is my sister, for he feared to say, My wife, thinking, lest the men of the place should kill me because of Rebekah, because she was attractive in appearance. (Gén 26:8)  -  33 / 80.

When he had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out of a window and saw Isaac laughing with[1] Rebekah his wife. (Gén 26:9)  -  34 / 80.

So Abimelech called Isaac and said, Behold, she is your wife. How then could you say, She is my sister? Isaac said to him, Because I thought, Lest I die because of her. (Gén 26:10)  -  35 / 80.

Abimelech said, What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us. (Gén 26:11)  -  36 / 80.

So Abimelech warned all the people, saying, Whoever touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death. (Gén 26:12)  -  37 / 80.

And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. The LORD blessed him, (Gén 26:13)  -  38 / 80.

and the man became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy. (Gén 26:14)  -  39 / 80.

He had possessions of flocks and herds and many servants, so that the Philistines envied him. (Gén 26:15)  -  40 / 80.

(Now the Philistines had stopped and filled with earth all the wells that his fathers servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father.) (Gén 26:16)  -  41 / 80.

And Abimelech said to Isaac, Go away from us, for you are much mightier than we. (Gén 26:17)  -  42 / 80.

So Isaac departed from there and encamped in the valley of Gerar and settled there. (Gén 26:18)  -  43 / 80.

And Isaac dug again the wells of water that had been dug in the days of Abraham his father, which the Philistines had stopped after the death of Abraham. And he gave them the names that his father had given them. (Gén 26:19)  -  44 / 80.

But when Isaacs servants dug in the valley and found there a well of spring water, (Gén 26:20)  -  45 / 80.

the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaacs herdsmen, saying, The water is ours. So he called the name of the well Esek, because they contended with him. (Gén 26:21)  -  46 / 80.

Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that also, so he called its name Sitnah. (Gén 26:22)  -  47 / 80.

And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, saying, For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land. (Gén 26:23)  -  48 / 80.

From there he went up to Beersheba. (Gén 26:24)  -  49 / 80.

And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said, I am the God of Abraham your father. Fear not, for I am with you and will bless you and multiply your offspring for my servant Abrahams sake. (Gén 26:25)  -  50 / 80.

So he built an altar there and called upon the name of the LORD and pitched his tent there. And there Isaacs servants dug a well. (Gén 26:26)  -  51 / 80.

When Abimelech went to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath his adviser and Phicol the commander of his army, (Gén 26:27)  -  52 / 80.

Isaac said to them, Why have you come to me, seeing that you hate me and have sent me away from you? (Gén 26:28)  -  53 / 80.

They said, We see plainly that the LORD has been with you. So we said, let there be a sworn pact between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you, (Gén 26:29)  -  54 / 80.

that you will do us no harm, just as we have not touched you and have done to you nothing but good and have sent you away in peace. You are now the blessed of the LORD. (Gén 26:30)  -  55 / 80.

So he made them a feast, and they ate and drank. (Gén 26:31)  -  56 / 80.

In the morning they rose early and exchanged oaths. And Isaac sent them on their way, and they departed from him in peace. (Gén 26:32)  -  57 / 80.

That same day Isaacs servants came and told him about the well that they had dug and said to him, We have found water. (Gén 26:33)  -  58 / 80.

He called it Shibah; therefore the name of the city is Beersheba to this day. (Gén 26:34)  -  59 / 80.

When Esau was forty years old, he took Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite to be his wife, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite, (Gén 26:35)  -  60 / 80.

and they made life bitter for Isaac and Rebekah. (Gén 27:1)  -  61 / 80.

Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me, (Gén 27:4)  -  64 / 80.

and prepare for me delicious food, such as I love, and bring it to me so that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die. (Gén 27:5)  -  65 / 80.

Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to his son Esau. So when Esau went to the field to hunt for game and bring it, (Gén 27:6)  -  66 / 80.

Rebekah said to her son Jacob, I heard your father speak to your brother Esau, (Gén 27:7)  -  67 / 80.

Bring me game and prepare for me delicious food, that I may eat it and bless you before the LORD before I die. (Gén 27:8)  -  68 / 80.

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice as I command you. (Gén 27:9)  -  69 / 80.

Go to the flock and bring me two good young goats, so that I may prepare from them delicious food for your father, such as he loves. (Gén 27:10)  -  70 / 80.

And you shall bring it to your father to eat, so that he may bless you before he dies. (Gén 27:11)  -  71 / 80.

But Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, my brother Esau is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man. (Gén 27:12)  -  72 / 80.

Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to be mocking him and bring a curse upon myself and not a blessing. (Gén 27:13)  -  73 / 80.

His mother said to him, Let your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, bring them to me. (Gén 27:14)  -  74 / 80.

So he went and took them and brought them to his mother, and his mother prepared delicious food, such as his father loved. (Gén 27:15)  -  75 / 80.

And she put the delicious food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. (Gén 27:18)  -  78 / 80.

Jacob said to his father, I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me; now sit up and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me. (Gén 27:20)  -  80 / 80.
